1. Seal lip cut or damaged. 2. Manual bleeder plug loose. 3. Packing gland bolts loose. 4. Gland bolts bottoming out on concrete or debris. 5. Wrong gland blots. If bolts are too long gland will not tighten. 6. Cracked gland. 7. Scored plunger.

Repair / 311

1. Replace seal. 2. Tighten or replace bleeder plug. 3. Torque bolts to specifications. 4. Remove bolts and clean holes. 5. Use bolts with the correct specifications. 6. Replace gland. 7. Sand scores with emery cloth or replace plungers. 8. Replace plunger.
